Diversity and Accessibility Statement
We Grow Good Food is a BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ space. I believe that people of all backgrounds should feel welcome and will not tolerate disrespect of any person based on race, gender, sexual orientation, or ability. This site will largely be a focus on gardening and gardening matters, just the goal is nobody reading here will have a sense they are excluded.
As a person who used to work with people with physical disabilities and who overcame my own private challenges and stigmas, I want the We Grow Good Food website and all content to be accessible to people of all backgrounds as I believe one unifying thing all people can relate to is we all need to eat. We all need healthy food. Another thing I know is the healing affect of getting outside and working with some dirt and watching things grow.
I’m in the process of increasing my site accessibility for the disabled folks out there. I have to offer my site on an “as-is” basis until I iron out and improve those issues over time.
We are all sharing a rock in space. There is a lot more work to make the world peaceful and inviting to all. The gardening community should be one of those encouraging places.
