Waltham Butternut Squash Seeds – Heirloom Winter Squash for Storage and Roasting

Waltham Butternut Squash is the classic heirloom butternut variety prized for its smooth tan skin, thick orange flesh, and sweet, nutty flavor. Developed for reliable yields and uniform fruits, this productive winter squash produces 8–10 inch fruits with small seed cavities and dense, flavorful flesh ideal for roasting, soups, and long-term storage.

Vining plants produce dependable harvests even in shorter northern growing seasons. Waltham Butternut is known for its strong disease tolerance and consistent performance in backyard gardens, market gardens, and raised beds.

At harvest, the fruits develop a hard tan rind and deep orange flesh that becomes sweeter after curing. This classic winter squash stores exceptionally well for months and is a staple for fall cooking, roasting, soups, and purees.
