Spaghetti Squash Seeds – Heirloom Winter Squash for Pasta-Like Noodles

Spaghetti Squash is a unique winter squash variety known for its golden skin and distinctive flesh that separates into tender spaghetti-like strands when cooked. This heirloom favorite produces oval fruits with mild, slightly sweet flavor, making it a popular low-carb alternative to traditional pasta.

Vigorous vines grow well in warm summer gardens and produce reliable harvests of medium-sized fruits throughout the season. Plants perform best in full sun with rich soil and plenty of space for vines to spread, making them ideal for backyard gardens, raised beds, and traditional vegetable plots.

When cooked, the bright yellow flesh pulls apart into delicate strands that pair perfectly with sauces, herbs, and roasted vegetables. Spaghetti squash stores well after harvest, providing a versatile and healthy ingredient for fall and winter meals.

Direct sow Spaghetti Squash seeds outdoors after the danger of frost has passed and soil temperatures reach at least 70°F. Plant seeds ½–1 inch deep and space plants 24–36 inches apart in rows 6–8 feet apart to allow room for spreading vines. Squash grows best in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Keep soil evenly moist during flowering and fruit development, and mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Harvest fruits once the rinds turn firm and golden yellow.
